Clarity K9 was founded in 2019 by dog trainers Kimberlee Cruz-Rodriguez and Andrew Rodriguez. The company was started to help dog owners bring clarity to their relationships with their dogs, in order to make living life with their dog as easy and enjoyable as possible.
Kimberlee and Andrew met in 2016, while working as dog trainers, for NYC’s dog training facility, Dream Come True K9. They shared a passion for dog training, and quickly developed a relationship. Now married with their 2 personal dogs, they both run Clarity K9.
Kimberlee started her dog training career back in 2013, where she worked for Petsmart for 3 years. She wanted to learn more, so she attended a ‘Understanding K9 behavior’ seminar hosted by Blake Rodriguez and Tyler Muto, which sparked her interest in behavior modification. She began working for Dream Come True K9 in 2016, where she became a trainer, and worked with some of the most complex dog behavioral issues around.
She resigned in 2018, and founded Clarity K9 in 2019. Kimberlee continued to further her dog training knowledge by enrolling in the ‘Training Without Conflict’ course taught by Ivan Balabanov in 2021. She completed this course and became certified in 2022, in order to bring the best, and most progressive training methods to Clarity K9.
When Kimberlee isn’t busy running Clarity K9, she makes time to work as a per diem Vet Assistant, and has worked in several Vet clinics, all over NYC for the past 10 years. Her experience as a vet assistant has proved to be invaluable to the care of our clients dogs at Clarity K9.
Andrew started working with dogs as a dog Walker in 2011, learning to handle dogs with behavioral issues. He started to focus more on the training aspect of dogs with behavioral issues, after starting work at Dream Come True K9 in 2013. In 2015 he became head trainer, helping to plan, and supervise the training programs for the dogs, as well as teach the owners.
Shortly after the founding of Clarity K9, Andrew has taken a step back from teaching private training sessions, to pursue a career outside of dog training. However, he still helps with the handling, care, and training of the dogs boarding at Clarity K9
